Xi'an
Explore ancient Chinese civilisation.
About Xi'an
Xi'an was the starting point of the ancient Silk Road and capital to more than a dozen dynasties. Its single biggest draw is the Terracotta Army — thousands of life-sized clay soldiers buried to guard an emperor's tomb for over two thousand years.
Beyond the Warriors, Xi'an's intact city wall and Muslim Quarter make it one of the most walkable historic cities in China. It combines well with Beijing or Chengdu on a multi-city cultural itinerary.
